Bringing lightness into design, the Visu Chair Wood Base combines ergonomic and functional expressions with a quiet silhouette. The shell is rendered in form-pressed veneer wood while the wooden legs provide a sleek yet sturdy base.
Product Material
Shell is form-pressed. Base is cut and all elements are lacquered.
Non-upholstered version: Form-pressed oak or ash veneer shell and base, both in water-based lacquer, alongside footrest in powder coated or stainless steel.
Upholstered version: Shell is made in formpressed veneer with foam and fully upholstered with textile or leather. Wood Base in formpressed veneer with water-based lacquer and footrest in powder coated or stainless steel.
Oak and ash veneer: slight color variations can occur due to the inherent characteristics of the material.
Lacquered Ash Veneer
Ash is a key material in Scandinavian furniture. We use the naturally bright, oiled ash wood to bring a light sentiment into our designs. The material is used in all of our colored furniture designs as ash is easily curved and shaped while being an excellent surface for lacquering, giving the vibrant colors a long lifespan.

Mika Tolvanen
Mika Tolvanen is a renowned Finnish designer who started his own practice after graduating from Royal College of Art in 2001. Tolvanen designs products for residential and contract use from his studio and workshop on the island of Lauttasaari outside of Helsinki, Finland. "The objective is not only to design products, but rather to look at occasions we need to design for. What really defines objects is how we use them, not what they appear to be. Design should never be the aspect that makes too much noise."
