A bar stool is only a distant relative to the regular stool and chair in the sense that to a bar stool, supporting your seat and your feet are equally important functions. Tawa – which means ‘tower’ in Japanese, is part of Anderssen & Voll’s ongoing study into bar stools, trying to give these functions an equal representation. The result is a product that is functional but also sculptural and architectural.

Design at A&V means being receptive to cultural and market influences and applying this knowledge in forward-thinking ways to generate groundbreaking and desirable products for our clients. Anderssen & Voll have received several awards for their work; including Wallpaper Award, Red Dot Award, IF Award and Honorary Award for best Design in Norway.
