With their two lamps Lanterna and Lanternina, Marta Laudani and Marco Romanelli succeed in enclosing light in a casing made of air. The two different-sized models share the pure shape, composed of two bell-shaped Murano glass diffusers one inside the other: the first, transparent diffuser, hosts the second sand-blasted one, containing the light source.

Marta Laudani & Marco Romanelli

Marta Laudani and Marco Romanelli, architects, have been collaborating since 1988 in the associated studios of Rome and Milan. Operating in the fields of interior design and architecture. In 2001, in Rome, on behalf of Fiat-Engineering, they planned the recovery of the "Museum of Roman Civilization". For both of them, the design work has always been accompanied by intense critical reflection on the themes of living and design: Marta Laudani taught at the Faculty of Architecture of Sapienza in Rome; Marco Romanelli was editor of the Domus and Abitare magazines.
