Paying homage to the Bølling tray table and acting as a close companion, the HB coffee table uses smooth lines and simplicity to create a refined and modern piece. There are strong roots in traditional design, while the exquisite crafting and distinctive design details show a modern approach to evolving design.

Inspired by his iconic tray table from 1963, these pieces continue Bølling’s iconic design line, where modern and playful twists are added to trustworthy classical foundations to create timeless designs of powerful simplicity.

Shaped by curves, arcs and angles, the new pieces take inspiration from reimagining circular shapes that naturally suggest timelessness and endless possibilities for evolution and reinvention.

Generational sustainability is at the heart of both Bølling and Brdr. Krüger, and these chairs were designed in partnership with the American Hardwood Export Council, using and reimagining red oakwood, cherry wood and maple wood to provide unique hues, tones and depth that harness the beauty of the natural world.

Hans Bølling

Hans Bølling

Danish architect Hans Bølling (born 1931) has designed a vast variety of works, ranging from dolls and furniture to villas, living complexes and town halls. He had his own design studio from 1955. Bølling’s work is known for its play, humor and wit. Early in his career he began to craft small figures from botanicals as gifts for family and friends. Bølling won an award for the designs and invested the winnings into his own carpentry machine. The access to the means of production kick-started the production of Bølling’s now-famous Duck and Ducklings in the 1950’s.
