Hakama Dining Bench

Base: Walnut OFN (OFN) Standard

Hakama Dining Bench | Highlight image 1
The table (especially the leg part when seen from the longitude direction of the table) looks like a samurai standing in full dress. Strong and innocent―the concept the designers put in this collection. The grooves of the leg part, expressing the folds of samurai attire, become deeper as they go down so that it looks more expanding and stable. The table is available in square or round shape, and the bench shows up more especially when more than one are lined up at a big hall.

Clarity, function, long life - these qualities form the basis of the work undertaken by Peter Maly, Birgit Hoffmann and Christoph Kahleyss. One could perhaps describe the team's formula for success as "variety within unity". They opened design studio in 2009. Peter Maly, recipient of many prizes, established his design office in 1979. His links with designers Birgit Hoffmann and Christoph Kahleyss are of long standing. Core competences of the Maly Hoffmann Kahleyss studio are furniture design and interiors; they also undertake photo productions and exhibition design work.
