Our Sustainability Program
CHANINTR’s Green Initiative was started in 2021. As Thailand’s leading luxury furniture importer, we are aware of our impact and want to make it our priority to minimize our environmental footprint wherever we can. In our industry, we are the benchmark for offering our clients quality products and services. It is now our aim to become the benchmark for corporate sustainability programs. 1 Tree for 1 Purchase
CHANINTR is working with Plant for the Planet, an international non-profit organization, as their first partner in Thailand. Through Plant for the Planet, we have achieved our goal of planting one tree for every item we sell. In 2020, our company sold 50,000 items and during the planting season of 2021, we planted 50,000 trees in Mae Hong Son, a Northern district in Thailand. In 2022, we planted another 40,000 trees in Krabi province in the south of Thailand, The total number of trees planted so far exceeds 90,000.
The sites that we have chosen to plant our trees are managed by Conserve Natural Forests, an organization that is committed to restoring the natural forest landscapes of Thailand. Over the years, they have seen that their reforestation efforts have helped protect and enhance biodiversity, self-regulate landscape ecological processes and improve the livelihoods of local communities in the long term.

LEARN MOREBenefits of Planting Trees
Trees play an important role in climate change. Here are some of the reasons why we have chosen to plant trees as the first step into going green as a company.
- Trees’ ability to remove excess atmospheric carbon — and release oxygen — means that reforestation can help mitigate the effects of human-produced emissions, ultimately slowing down climate change.
- Trees improve air quality by filtering harmful dust and pollutants such as ozone, carbon monoxide, and sulfur dioxide from the air we breathe.
- Restoring forests protects natural resources and enhances biodiversity. Many species of wildlife depend on trees for habitat. Trees provide food, protection, and homes for many birds and mammals.
- Improve livelihoods of local communities in the long term.
Our Commitment
Accountability
Our goal is to be carbon neutral as quickly as possible. We are working with experts to determine the best and most timely path to get there. We will update our progress with you periodically on this page.
Sustainability Packaging
Our packaging is getting a makeover. Our in-house team is designing new packaging for our stores and warehouse that not only looks nice but is also eco-friendly. We hope to make the full shift towards recycled wrapping papers and reusable blanket wraps to decrease our reliance on bubble wrap.
Eco-Conscious Brands
We choose to represent brands that also care about our planet. From Herman Miller and Emeco to Dinesen and Bulthaup, many of the brands we represent are also working to reduce their carbon footprint through innovative solutions that range from working with recycled materials to manufacturing, warehousing and shipping. In the long term, we plan on creating a guideline for future sourcing of brands and materials for better assessment.
Waste Management
While we try our best to eliminate waste within the company, we do know that it’s still a natural byproduct of the industry and we are not fully there yet. When there is waste, we want to make sure that it gets managed properly so that recyclable materials end up being reused for other purposes.
Circular Economy
We launched Spruce, the first-ever furniture subscription service of its kind in Thailand. This sustainable business model means that a single piece of furniture gets to be reused and repurposed again at the end of a subscription, helping to eliminate waste and prevent overstocking.
Minimizing Plastic
We have moved from bottled water to serving high-quality filtered water and using compostable straws and packaging in our cafe.
